The 5th international scientific conference “HEALTH. PLEASANT SENSATION. PRACTICE.” P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia
On 7 April in 2022 P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia organized the 5th international scientific conference "HEALTH. PLEASANT SENSATION. PRACTICE.", which after a two-year break brought together in college a large number of curious beauty care specialists in cosmetology, beauticians, masseurs and other health industry professionals, as well as future specialists.
This year's theme was the question of human aging process, physical and emotional health. In the first half of the day, the audience had the opportunity to listen to the presentations of industry professionals, the second part of the program offered a series of practical master classes.
With a solemn opening speech of the conference, Iveta Strode, the director of the P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia , brought a spring-like warm note to the proceedings, allowing the conference guests to feel the cosy and festive atmosphere. A day full of valuable knowledge and greetings were sent to the participants of the conference by Sabīne Ulberte, chairman of the board of the Association of Latvian Beauty Specialists, and Rita Grīnfogele, chairman of the board of the Association of Latvian Masseurs. The Association of Latvian Physical Medicine was represented at the conference by Marija Livčāne-Rodzeviča, who appreciated the desire of participants to improve their knowledge and gain new experience.
The conference program was opened by certified nutritionist Diāna Jakuboviča with the report "Nutrition that delays aging". Mentor of business startups Andra Strautiņa encouraged to pay attention to emotionally conscious actions in everyday life and to learn about your "time thieves", promoter of career development at the Career Center of Riga Stradins University, who gave a lecture "Time for yourself - a resource for well-being, success and growth". Homeopath doctor, founder of medicinal Qigong in Latvia, Igors Kudrjavcevs, discussed Qigong and its philosophy with participants . At the end of the conversation, the participants of the conference were involved in the performance of a breathing exercise, thus reminding us that each of us can clear our mind, activate energy and joy of life every day, through a conscious breathing exercise, which was confirmed by the participants of the conference after the jointly performed exercise.
Estonia was represented at the conference by Kirkke Reisberg, a physiotherapy lecturer at the college's partner higher education institution, Tartu Health Care College, who in her presentation presented a study model in which students learn types of massage. In the second part of the presentation "Development of Therapeutic Massage in Tartu Health Care College", the lecturer presented the research conducted on the comparison of the effects of several massage methods, applying them to improve human physical and emotional health.
Zane Prikule-Rūsiņa, a resident doctor in dermatovenerology, a member of the Latvian and European Association of Dermatovenereologists, spoke about rosacea in the cosmetology office of a dermatologist and beauty care specialist. Dermatologist, venereologist Milena Jakuba-Zolotarjova shared her experience as a doctor in working with patients with skin neoplasms, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation.
The first part of the conference was concluded by a certified beautician with more than 25 years of experience in beauty care, the leading methodologist of the Latvian brand GMT BEAUTY, Terēza Beļkova. In her presentation "Innovative raw materials in cosmetic formulas" she provided comprehensive information about the latest substances in cosmetics and their purpose of action, and also invited to think about the effect, efficiency and safety of cosmetics in daily work with clients, not only in the context of healthy skin, but also in the context of the body as a whole.
In the second half of the day, the conference program offered visitors four practical oriented master classes, the focus of which was on promoting a person's physical and emotional well-being.
Beauty specialists in cosmetology and beauticians participated in two master classes:
- "Beauty care specialists in cosmetology and "A modern approach to aesthetic cosmetology - the advantages of dynamic synergy of different types of energy with the innovative, multifunctional device "Body Synergy Laser 980nm"", led by Elvīra Jevdokimova, trainer of aesthetic cosmetology and medical apparatus technologies of Ltd. "Beauty Equipment";
- "Endosphere therapy - an innovative wide-spectrum body care procedure" led by certified beauty specialist in cosmetology and lecturer of the P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia Rita Velika.
Masseurs, on the other hand, attended two master classes in the practical part of the conference:
"How to preserve and promote your life energy", led by a homeopath doctor, Qigong specialist, writer, founder of therapeutic Qigong in Latvia, president of the Latvian Oriental Gymnastics Association, educational program "Saules Ceļš®" and harmonizing communication/soul therapy methodology "Verbal Resonance® " by Igors Kudrjavcevs.
- "Structure of connective tissue massage structure", led by certified masseuse, member of Latvian Physical Medicine Association, lecturer of the P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia.
At the end of the day, the visitors appreciated the offered program, were pleased that they could come back and enjoy the event in person, where they have the opportunity to improve their professional knowledge and skills.
